No.1 was the first original created in the one of one series. It is the piece that started Tom’s journey as an artists. 
 
The purpose of this piece was to demonstrate depth through multiple layers of paint. The use of blue and yellow on the first layer was purposeful, while the use of green was the experiment, slowly building and blended until the balance was right. 
 
The second layer uses the various hues within the first as bold spreads of paint and the piece all comes together with the splatters of blues, yellows, greens, whites and golds to complete the piece. With a textured white painted boarder to frame this piece.7
